Acquiring a puppy is an important decision so we welcome you to call Royal Rhodesian Ridgebacks to discover why we are so special to our customers. We want to make certain you and your new Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies are given the very best. We also would like to impart the necessary knowledge to assure your new Rhodesian Ridgeback family member makes a smooth transition into their new homes. We look forward to meeting you!
Cleanliness – When you pick up your Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy you will see the exceptional cleanliness and conditions, not only where the dog resides, but the property overall, both inside and out. Ribbons and awards for showing dogs are not necessarily indicative of a good breeder. A dog that is well taken care of should be in a clean, well maintained, healthy environment. The owner of Royal Rhodesian Ridgebacks is personally driven, she wants to be the best and provide the best for all her dogs.
Health – The health and well being of your Rhodesian Ridgeback should be first and foremost and you can’t always know just from looking at a puppy. Don’t take just anyone’s word for it; Royal Rhodesian Ridgebacks are visited regularly by a licensed veterinarian, are administered all necessary shots, current with all worming protocol, guaranteed to be in good health and guaranteed against genetic defects. Owning a dog is an emotional, serious undertaking and we want you to have a lifetime of happiness, gratification and fulfillment with you Royal Rhodesian Ridgeback.
Food – Ask about the food they are given; is it natural, is it dry, is it from a can, what is the nutritional value? The answer will help you determine how much the breeder really cares. All of our Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs and puppies are fed natural food and treats, from one of the most respected, reputable, nutritional brands of premium dog food in the world, and it’s all made in the U.S.A.
Socialization – A dog’s behavior can be a sign of the way they are treated and socialized. All of our Rhodesian Ridgebacks get along well with people and other dogs because they are exposed to various scenarios that help them become mentally healthy, stable and well adjusted. Don’t just play with your puppy, interact with the larger dogs and see how they behave and react to you.
Genetics – Often you can obtain a healthy puppy that will never have problems from bloodlines that are ordinary. Royal Rhodesian Ridgebacks does their utmost in breeding champion dogs to help ensure the best the breed has to offer. Our Rhodesian Ridgebacks are show quality, but we believe their true value is in the joy they bring to our lives day in and day out.
Don’t rely solely on a recommendation or what someone tells you. Objectivity from the source is important. For instance, often a network of dog owners or clubs will refer you to someone in their organization and possibly dissuade you from a breeder outside of their “circle”. This type of conduct should throw up a red flag immediately. There are good breeders both in and out of these alliances. Regardless of the Rhodesian Ridgeback breeder you choose, a pet’s well-being should be considered first and foremost. We also think it’s essential for the breeder to meet with the future parent(s). Royal Rhodesian Ridgebacks can provide you with a wealth of testimonials and references.
A $250 reservation fee is required and will be applied to the purchase price of your Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy. A deposit is a commitment and needs to be treated as such. When you put a deposit down you will be on the list to get a puppy, which depends on Nature.
Everyone realizes Mother Nature controls everything, so you may have to be patient!
The date the reservation fee is received will determine the buyer’s place in the order of
the litter. When the litter is 4 weeks old, the prospective pet parent(s) will receive a questionnaire to help determine which puppy will best compliment their lifestyle, environmental dynamics and personality.
If you are unable to take a puppy for any reason, the owner will credit all money paid toward the purchase of a puppy from a future litter. We plan a breeding well in advance and at the most, once a year.
